All,
If anyone is interested in participating in an informal breakfast or lunch
meet-up to share insight into how your respective institution provides planned
financial suppor for your cores/, how you group/ structure your cores, etc at
the upcoming ABRF meeting this spring please let me know and I will put an
email list together and organize something.
I am very interested in learning how it is done at other schools. We have
terrific support from our leadership for cores but are really just nearing the
point of being ready to take a strategic "long view" at this kind of approach
to funding our cores.
All the Best,

All,
If anyone is interested in participating in an informal breakfast or lunch
meet-up to share insight into how your respective institution provides planned
financial suppor for your cores/, how you group/ structure your cores, etc at
the upcoming ABRF meeting this spring please let me know and I will put an
email list together and organize something.
I am very interested in learning how it is done at other schools. We have
terrific support from our leadership for cores but are really just nearing the
point of being ready to take a strategic "long view" at this kind of approach
to funding our cores.

Will do. We have been unable to get a sponsor so we will not be providing
anything more than an opportunity for conversation, learning from our
colleagues and extremely inexpensive "group therapy" :o)
Working on a place for everyone to huddle up over their morning coffee.
All,
If you still plan to attend this informal, BYOC (Bring Your Own Coffee)
discussion/info. sharing session on "Strategic, Sustainable Funding of Cores"
please RSVP here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RDMKSX8
Currently, this get together is planned for Wednesday, April 25, 2018, 7-8:15am
in "room 203" of the meeting facility/center.
Please mark your conference calendars so you don't miss the following two
related presentations:
Monday, April 23rd, 3:45-5, Ballroom E
"Beyond Recharges and S10s: Institutional Strategies for Core Sustainability"
Organizer: Cassandra Wong, University of Michigan Medical School
Tuesday, April 24th, Ballroom E
Core Management โTable Topicsโ (Includes table topic option of Sustainable Core
Funding)
Organizer: Susanna Perkins, University of Massachusetts Medical School
REMINDER for those at the ABRF Meeting
If you would like to engage in a very informal conversation on sustainable
funding for cores please bring your coffee to room 203 at 7am on Wednesday,
April 25, 2018.
We will continue the conversation started at yesterdayโs terrific session
"Beyond Recharges and S10s: Institutional Strategies for Core Sustainability"
which Cassandra Wong from the University of Michigan Medical School organized
and what is sure to be great series of โCore Management Table Talksโ organized
by Susanna Perkins, from University of Massachusetts Medical School. The "Table
Talk" session is today, Tuesday, April 24th, Ballroom E at 10:30am
I wish I could have been there! I just learned of this organization and I am
brand new in my role and so could have benefitted from this conference and
chat. Any takeaways you all would like to share? We are a newer research
organization and have just implemented our first core.
