Hi ABRFers:
We have a contamination coming from a non-HPLCer applied Vaseline to the
metal motor that drives the wash syringe after the syringe could not move
due the blocked metal column. Then during the process, the wash syringe
could be contaminated. We thus see a huge contamination peak when eluting
with high organic phase by MS.
We have an ultimate3000 TSL autoampler. We have washed the system
comprehensively based on the recommendations from the Thermo technical
support. The peak is still there. The tech support suggested have a service
call and is less enthusiastic about providing tech support by emails at
this time.
I think from the autosampler flow, we could still try to replace the parts
associated with the autosampler and other paths in the flow path before
having a service call-- to save money.
Anyone has any suggestions for cleaning a ultimate3000 autosampler or
replacing parts? We need the manufacturer's manual to replacing the three
way valve that is drinking the washing syringe. I hope we can get it from
Thermo.
Thanks ahead for your help. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
